I received an email today from The Weather Channel:

In order to have access to an XML data feed from The Weather Channel, you will need to subscribe to The Weather Channel® API. This letter serves as formal notice to you that your access to the weather.com® XML Data Feed will terminate at midnight Eastern time on October 31, 2011. To evaluate The Weather Channel® API as an alternative to the weather.com® XML Data Feed, please go to http://portal.theweatherchannel.com.

Since the XML feed for eWeather comes from The Weather Channel, and they are discontinuing that feed, I will need to investigate other feeds for this Joomla! component.  I only have until October 31, so it's likely that there will be a service interruption.

After doing some investigation on available weather feeds, I have come to the conclusion that none are adequate for the needs of eWeather.  As a result, I am discontinuing development and support for this component and all the modules.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement over the past 2.5 years.  It's been a hell of a ride, and I've had a lot of fun.
