Could I have the city name in my default language?

Postby gmegane » Fri May 07, 2010 5:46 pm

Hi.

I just installed the eweather com in my web page. My default language is greek. The city name is appeared with english characters instead of greek characters.
Could I have the city name in my default language-the greek one?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings George,

The city names should have been displayed in Greek. I will check on it, since there must be something wrong. What is your city?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob.

You can see what I said here: http://www.hotelhera.gr/index.php/weather . All are greek characters except the city name "Navplion, Greece".
During the configuration (backend) I can see all the Greek locations in Greek.

Thanks once more.

Greetings, George. I think have this fixed. I found that I was not correctly translating city/country names that were retrieved from The Weather Channel. That should be fixed now. I uploaded a new version 1.4.5 of the eWeather Component. You can download that version here: com_eweather_1.4.5.zip.

Please let me know if that fixes the problem you are seeing.

I also noticed that there is quite a bit of the Greek language file that needs translated. Mostly I saw that the moon phases ("Waning Crescent" for example) and weather descriptions ("Mostly cloudy" for example) are still in English. Would you be interested in translating some of those?

Thanks,
Bob
